Temple Terrace, FL – February 20, 2007 – International Computer Works, Inc., a leader in geospatial and government applications, today announced the company’s GIS Application Division has released the version 3.0 of ICWAVL. Operating with a USB GPS receiver and ICWAVL using MapX from MapInfo Corporation of Troy, NY; the user can track vehicle location and other statistics in addition to performing field data gathering.
International Computer Works, Inc. has extended the functionality of the prior version of ICWAVL with client driven enhancement requests that include a new user interface for installation and setting parameters for performance. Also, included with Version 3.0 is the ability to maintain a northern orientation of the map display or at the user’s command rotate the map to comply with the vehicle heading. Additionally, a new feature prompted by public safety clients permits the user to enter a search address and zoom to the extents to show the existing vehicle location and the target address simultaneously.
“ICWAVL provides a high rate of return for our clients because of low cost of ownership and integration with desktop mapping applications used in elections, public safety and school administration to name few of the disciplines among the many that we serve. The accuracy of the data gathered in the field is tantamount to the integrity of our applications as the data we maintain is used to interoperate with external applications,” said Keith Tozier, Vice President of Research and Development.
