Another Success At The

Second Annual GeoElections Conference

Professonals from across the State of Florida converged upon the ICW corporate offices to attend the 2nd Annual GeoElections Conference. Attendees enjoyed the opportunity to professionally network and participate in technical sessions to expand upon their knowledge in the use of GIS to address some of the mission critical tasks of the office.

David Watson

Guest speaker David Watson provided an engaging discussion focused on the interoperability of GeoElections with Voter Focus. Other topics included a review of new features in the GeoElections suite of software including Advanced SQL and MapInfo Professional along with building text layers and use of the GeoElections WebTools Control Panel and Client Side modules. During the Open Session, attendees volunteered numerous suggestions for product enhancements along with topics and activities that might be incorporated into next year’s conference. One of several suggestions for product enhancement has been implemented since the conference and is discussed in the next column.

ICW Adds TEXT ONLY VERSION To GeoElections WebTools

The innovative web mapping application ICW designed meets Section 508 of the the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Yet, in the spirit of excellence ICW has introduced a Text Only Version (TOV) to help their clients continue to connect with an expanding audience.

note

Consistent with the innovation expected of ICW developers, the TOV has earned the maximum AAA rating from the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI).
